I’ve had a WhiBal™ grey card since last christmas and I’m constantly surprised when I speak to other UK photographers and they’ve never heard of them. Maybe it’s because you can’t buy them here.
The beauty of the WhiBal™ is that it’s small enough to fit in your pocket. If you find yourself shooting RAW in mixed lighting conditions, as you would shooting Weddings or Portrait Sessions, a quick shot of the card in the various lighting conditions you find yourself in and you can be confident that you have a great reference for a neutral colour balance when it comes to processing your RAW files.
The only downside I have found is you tend to look a little peculiar taking a picture of a little grey card! But for about £20 shipped I think thats a small price to pay for accurate colour.
