Charlie, Newborn Shoot in Solihull

Well, I finally found someone willing to let me suspend their newborn in mid-air and I’m not sure who was more nervous, me or them! I think the only one who wasn’t nervous was 14 day old Charlie who was very patient with his fumbling photographer and slept through the entire experience.

As with every shoot there are things I wish I had done differently or tried, but I think this worked out pretty well for a first attempt and I’m looking forward to trying it again in the New Year…without the fumbling this time of course!

Alan - Andy – I know. His left leg fell forward mid shot and he didn’t want it put back. Must have been comfortable!

Andy - looking at this again, I still can’t figure out what his legs are doing!

Tobiah Tayo - Absolutely beautiful!

Alan - Thanks Jo, I appreciate your comments. You’ve got some fantastic stuff on your site btw.

Alan - Hi Josh – the baby is suspended in a custom knit sling. Its strong enough to hold a bowling bowl and is extremely safe :)

Jo Hastings - Beautiful images

Josh - Great Shots! What did you use to suspend the newborn? I’ve been wanting to try this but nervous about creating the safest setup to do it.

Alan - Thanks for the comments. I’ll definitely be trying this again sometime :)

Andy - The trust paid off as the shots are great. I love the fact in the first shot he looks so happily asleep whilst his limbs are all over the place.

jay - Great shots! I love the simplicity of image #1. Did you enjoying doing the suspension? Will you do more of it now you’ve tried it?

Jennifer O. - So precious!

gill maheu - gorgeous shots – i REALLY love the second one – stunning work !

Luke - Looks great – when is the book coming out?

{mandy} - Very beautiful. I love the empty space in the first shot. What a cutie.
