A few weeks ago I had a shoot with Yorkshire based Techno duo Spektre (aka Paul Maddox & Richard Wakley). They wanted some new promotional images so we headed down to the Digbeth area in Birmingham. I’ve never shot down there before so it was great to have a good look around.
As well as standard press shots the guys wanted to shoot something a little more unusual. We tried various things like slow exposures, odd angles and even some HDR (High Dynamic Range) but this is one of my favorite images. It was shot from behind a sheet of dirty, obscured perspex and lit with two Speedlights. The guys were lit from camera left with a Lastolite Ezybox and the second flash was on the ground at camera right to throw some light on the wall behind them. All in all I think we achieved something pretty interesting.
